There are things I would slap myself for sometimes and quitting iWork or MS applications Office without saving the file in progress is one of them. This is precisely the bad habit that has caused me to lose a number of articles in the past, which can be quite annoying for reviews that you have been working on for several hours at a time. Of course, I know very well that saving your work continuously is essential, but when you are “salivated” and start writing, you don’t focus on anything else but this activity and often save only when it is completely finished. However, a problem occurs when someone “breaks the thread” and, for example, calls you, delivers a package, and so on. This is exactly what happens to me, and instead of continuing where I left off, I often start working on other, more current things and thoughtlessly finish and delete the work in progress. At least apparently. iCloud It hides one absolutely bombastic feature that saves people like me their asses.

Apple allows you to recover deleted files quite easily, thanks to automatic data saving to iCloudu. How exactly does it work and what can be restored?
How does autosave work in iCloudu?
If you have it turned on iCloud Drive, your files are automatically synced between all devices where you are signed in to your Apple IDThis means that once you create a document in Pages, Numbers, Keynote or any other application, it will be saved on iCloud and you can access it from your Mac, iPhone, and iPad. But everyone probably knows that.
However, what many people don't know is that this system also ensures that files are continuously saved, so if, for example, you close the app or the device runs out of power, you won't lose your content, even if you haven't manually saved the file. Apple In that case, it gives you 30 days to restore it before it is permanently deleted. And while restoring photos or notes is something everyone knows, since it can be done directly through the interface in the application, with documents in Pages and so on, it is definitely not the case.
What can be done from iCloudu restore?
iCloud allows you to recover various types of data if you had it stored on its storage. Specifically, these are:
Files from iCloud Drive – Documents from Pages, Numbers, Keynote, Wordu, Excelu, PDF and other formats.
Photos and videos – If you use iCloud Photos, you can recover deleted images up to 30 days after they were deleted.
Notes – You can find a note you accidentally deleted in the Recently Deleted section of the Notes app.
Contacts, calendars and reminders – evenCloud keeps older versions that can be restored at any time.
Safari bookmarks and history – iCloud allows you to revert to earlier versions of your bookmarks and browsing history.
How to recover deleted and unsaved files via iCloud.com?
If you accidentally deleted a file, follow these steps:
Open alsoCloud.com and log in with your Apple ID.
Scroll down and click Data Recovery.
Choose from the menu what you specifically need to restore
Find the file you want, click it, and select Recover.
This procedure works not only for documents from Pages, Numbers or Keynote, but also for any other files you had on iCloud Drive. In fact, all you need to know to recover is when you deleted the file. I knew that I deleted it the same day I started looking for it, around 12 noon, and that it was called "Untitled 37". Thanks to this, I could easily find this lost piece from the list of files saved in this way, recover it, and continue working on it.
Recover photos, notes, and other data
If you need to recover a file type other than documents, the procedure is a little different:
Photos and Videos → Go to the Photos app on yourCloud.com and look in the Recently Deleted section.
Notes → Open the Notes app and find the Recently Deleted folder in the sidebar.
Contacts, calendars and Safari bookmarks → On iCloud.com, open Settings > Advanced and there you will find the option to restore earlier versions of this data.
A rescue that will delight!
Thanks tooCloudfiles are saved automatically and continuously, which miniminimizes the risk of losing them. If you do delete something by mistake, you have 30 days to recover it. The best defense against accidental data loss is to have iCloud Drive, which ensures that all your files are safely stored and accessible from any device. As far as I know, in Office continuous automatic saving can be set.
It is possible. But I use Pages from iWork.
U excelYou can set the save to onedrive. When it is stored on iCloud, so it is not possible to go back to older versions, which is quite restrictive. I would like to enable version history excelui on iCloud, but unfortunately it doesn't work :/..
jj office it's definitely more than 10 years old, because it also saved my life a few times at work :) I'm in the fact that apple I've always had this too :D
