When Apple last week revealed to the world a new iPhone 16e with its own 5G C1 modem, boasted of its low energy consumption. Compared to Qualcomm modems, which are now in iPhonech uses, then according to him, the energy consumption should have been up to 25% lower, which is somewhat incredible considering that this is the first generation of the modem. However, as the first laboratory test conducted by the Chinese website Geekerwan showed, it is incredible for Apple It definitely doesn't mean impossible. His words are true. Apple is now within reach of another milestone that could significantly increase interest in its products in the coming years. The transition to its own chip solutions has ignited an imaginary spark of interest among both individuals and companies, as is noted by, for example, iBusiness Thein.

Geekerwan measured the power consumption of the C1 modem using a number of advanced technologies, including a special synthetic cell tower inside the lab, and so on. In the test, it then compared iPhone 16e with iPhonem 16 and 16 Pro, which use Qualcomm solutions to connect to LTE and 5G networks. And while the iPhones were practically the same in terms of speed, the differences in terms of power consumption were really noticeable. The average modem consumption from Applu and Qualcomm differed by about 24%, while in the low signal test, when the modem is more active and therefore consumes more energy, the difference was about 17%. AppSo, a real hussar feat was achieved.

However, the Chinese portal did not stop at theoretical testing. It also tried a battery test using a 5G network, and while iPhone The 16e lasted 7 hours and 53 minutes of video playback, iPhone 16 turned off after just 7 hours and iPhone 16 Pro even after 6 hours and 54 minutes. It is necessary to add here in one breath that iPhone The 16e has a roughly 12% larger battery and therefore should logically last longer, however, considering the modem's energy consumption during the laboratory test, it is clear that the phone did not win this battle on battery alone.
