ČT24, the number one news channel in Europe, presents a new version of its mobile application. It brings a modern user interface, a new short news section, the ability to add widgetwith the main news on the desktop or dark mode. The new version of the application is launched by ČT24 at the beginning of its twentieth anniversary celebrations. It is available now for devices with operating systems iOS and Android, offers a redesigned look for both mobile phones and tablets.

"The new version of the ČT24 mobile application is another step in our strategy of making news content accessible to viewers in a modern and intuitive way. With this step, we are also following up on the launch of the redesigned ČT24 website at the end of 2023 and continuing to build a unified ecosystem of Czech Television's digital platforms," says Marek Doležel, Director of the Digital Services Division.
The application brings a redesigned look and an increasingly popular dark mode that saves battery and eyesight. Its clear display is adapted for both mobile phones and tablets with larger screens. The arrangement of individual elements can also dynamically respond to current events and offers comprehensive coverage of regular and extraordinary news in a native environment.
Complete news service, articles, videos and live broadcasts
The application now comes with a separate short news section for a quick and concise summary of current events, with widgety to your desktop, an overview of the day's main events and live broadcasts available with one click. ProThe ability to set notifications for breaking news and customize them to the user's needs has also been changed. It is also possible to set an overview of the sections on the main screen. The video player has also been significantly redesigned for the Android version.
Further improvements are already planned. "Users can look forward to further news, which will be aimed primarily at max"optimal use of the benefits that mobile platforms offer us. Whether it's functions related to video content, customization to individual user preferences, or smart notifications. This also applies to other Czech Television applications," adds ČT mobile applications manager Matouš Eckert.
Available now in app stores
Existing users will be updated to the new version automatically in the coming days. The ČT24 mobile application is available for download at Google Play for Android phones and tablets and on App Store for system devices iOS.
