Legendary camera manufacturer Leica has released its own photo app, Leica LUX. It is an app that, as Leica itself claims, redefines the standards in smartphone photography, or rather iPhone photography, as the app is currently only available within the App StoreThe first professional app directly from camera manufacturers, according to Leica, will allow you to capture the so-called Leica Look with your iPhone, so you'll always have the fascinating glow from Leica photography at your fingertips.

It is true that photos taken with a Leica can be recognized by a more experienced eye because they have a typical Leica color tone. The app reproduces several popular Leica lenses such as the Noctilux-M 50mm f/1.2, Summilux-M 28mm f/1.4 and Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4. So you can experience what it's like to shoot with these lenses, with Leica promising more lenses to come. In addition to the possibility to try one of the lenses, there are of course options such as changing color profiles. By the way, you can change lenses simply by swiping from left to right and vice versa. Color adjustments then characterize the colors offered by Leica cameras. You can choose from Leica Classic, Contemporary, Black & White or Vivid, and then of course also a number of color profiles, of which Leica offers eleven in total.

Leica LUX can then edit the photos automatically or you can fine-tune everything yourself by setting shutter speed, exposure, ISO, white balance and so on. Of course, you can choose from various focusing options and save photos in the format RAW or ProRAWThe only downside is the price, an annual subscription to the application costs 1990 CZK, or you can pay 199 CZK per month. However, you can try it for free for 14 days to see if the investment is worth it.
An absolute blast! For me, great satisfaction even in the free version. It just always crashes when switching to the front camera, but I don't care, I practically don't take pictures with it at all, I don't use it much for selfies.
