I was really looking forward to testing the JBL Bar 800 after my experience with the JBL Bar 500, because even the lower model created a very decent surround experience, although it cannot boast removable speakers, which are among the biggest benefits of this set, nor such impressive performance.onem. The difference in the 5.1.2 configuration is also noticeable in this case compared to the aforementioned 5.1 relative. This time, apart from a few pieces from Apple TV+ also focused more intensively on music and gave space to listen to tracks in Dolby Atmos, which was one of the most enjoyable moments in the company of this soundbar with subwoofer. When you add to that, in addition to HDMI and optics,oneWi-Fi and Bluetooth functionality linked to support for streaming services such as Spotify or Tidal, along with clear access to settings and handy control via the JBL app One, the JBL Bar 800 looks really promising. Let's take a closer look at it.
What is in the package
When you order the JBL Bar 800, you will receive a chair-like package with a practical hole for easy handling of almost 19 kg of weight. The box with a print combining the company's typical orange with white images leads to recommendations for carrying and unpacking. Laying it on its side gives you access to the latches and opens up all the contents protected by the styrofoam forms. In addition to the soundbar itself with a subwoofer, it also includes two magnetically attachable speakers, a set of covers, a pair of power cables and a smaller box with accessories. In its bowels you will find documentation, including a template helpful if you decide to mount it on the wall, and everything you need related to it, from the console to dowels and screws. Personal impressions and evaluations
As mentioned in the introduction, my expectations were quite high after having the privilege of using the JBL Bar 500. Most of them were fulfilled. ProThe sound quality is above average for a system in this price range after calibration, which is worth paying attention to in order to achieve the best possible results. By adjusting the level of the removable speakers and adjusting the equalizer, I achieved a sound that completely satisfied my preferences and filled the entire room. Position can significantly change the experience. Ideally, nothing should stand in the way of sound propagation, but in principle, you just need to follow the advice of the guide in the application.

I definitely appreciate the work of the subwoofer, which, although on paper it only goes to the aforementioned 35 Hz, is really and literally felt. With the modest dimensions of my living room, I did not need to go beyond the half-load limit during normal operation, but of course I tried such a scenario. Apart from the not entirely ideal acoustic conditions of the room, in which objects were slowly starting to move, the system pleasantly surprised me miniwith a small degree of distortion. When watching movies, I tried to slightly strengthen the mids, whose performance could be a little more pronounced here, but this can be solved with an equalizer, and highlighting the dialogues on the Apple TV.

Wireless transmission via AirThere were no problems with Play and Bluetooth. I would have liked the wake-up function to be more flexible in combination with a screen connected via HDMI. At first, I was a little worried about the need to frequently recharge the satellites, but with a battery life of around 10 hours, I only had to connect them to the soundbar once during normal use during the week. Overall, I see the set as a great choice for those who want to enjoy exceptionally clean and dynamic listening while consuming multimedia, which surrounds and draws you into the action, but also makes your favorite songs stand out not only in Dolby Atmos.
