NASA, in collaboration with SpaceX, has launched a new satellite into orbit. The satellite, called PACE, was carried by a Falcon rocket. The entire project cost $968 million and the satellite will observe the Earth from an altitude of 676 kilometers. PACE is intended to help better predict hurricanes and other extreme weather phenomena. The device is capable of distinguishing 200 colors, so it will be better able to observe how atmospheric aerosols and the underwater world interact. Current satellites "see" maxat least 8 colors.
