Chemical Brothers - For That Beautiful Feeling
The 2023s electronic scene in Britain was a phenomenon in itself. But can it still be relevant in XNUMX? The Chemical Brothers prove it XNUMX% on their new album. The album immediately became one of their best-rated records and combines the duo's classic dense electronic sound with a slightly, if not pop, minia relatively mainstream production. It is an unexpectedly cheerful and entertaining album accessible to a wider audience. If any of your friends want to introduce you to the music of "Chemiky", you can safely recommend For That Beautiful Feeling as a pleasant gateway. Who wouldn't want to hear it from the tenth studioHow long did he wait?
Olivia Rodrigo – Guts
On her second album, the American singer proves that her well-received debut wasn't just an instant sensation, but that a musician capable of making decent pop based on more sophisticated melodies and lyrics has truly emerged. On the new album, she added more guitars, and in places, balancIt borders on rock songwriting. The album has no fluff, if a song lacks hit potential, it is reserved for the urgency of the topic or genre diversity. One of the most interesting recordings of this year in the field of American pop.
Kylie Minogue - Tension
How does Kylie manage to be more current than many singers a generation younger? Of course, the novelty of Tension is driven by the single Padam Padam, the summer sensation of the LGBTQ+ community, but the rest of the album, with a few exceptions, offers interesting compositions. They are not as straightforwardly danceable as the previous records, they experiment more with electronics and bring more serious themes. Logically, Minogue recorded the record with a mobile studio throughout covid, and this new approach to work was reflected in the sound. No longer a straightforward pop, Minogue still wants to entertain her audience, but not at the cost of being likable.

Royal Blood - Back to the Water Below
A record that divided the fans of the British duo into two camps. Some are disappointed by the slowing down of the tempo and the wider range of genres, plus due to the self-production, there is a lack of distance that would bind the record as a whole. But the second group of fans, on the other hand, appreciates the significant shift, darker motifs in the lyrics and music, the variety, thanks to which there is always something happening on the record and the band can include practically every song in a permanent concert setlist. An authorally distinctive record, where the need to convey something has more weight than pondering what the listeners will think about it. That's the way it's supposed to be.
Ed Sheeran – Autumn Varialio
A special album. In terms of content, it's not a miracle, but it still deserves to be recommended. One of the biggest stars of global show business, Ed Sheeran, is undergoing a transformation here. He has abandoned naming his records with mathematical signs and is not pushing his typical expression, which has managed to sell even really weak singles, to the limit. Instead, he returns to a more coherent songwriting form, as if he were about to go busking again. The production by Aaron Dessner from The National also does a lot. This guy can add value to even superficial pop. Sheeran knows this and on Autumn Variations started working on it, but the bread will break at the next plate.
