The reason why they will do so is said to be the announcement of the Qi2 wireless charging standard in January this year, on the development of which Apple This is specifically a new magnetic charging profile that will bring the same type of magnetic charging technology to smartphones as MagSafe on iPhonech. According to the description of the technology of the consortium Wireless The Power Consortium (WPC) will ensure adoption of this technology by perfectly matching chargers to phones, resulting in better energy efficiency and faster charging.
