Yesterday, Russia's Federal Service for Financial Monitoring listed Meta, which owns social networks Facebook and Instagram, to the list of terrorist and extremist organizations. The giant thus found itself in the company of the Taliban and extremist right-wing organizations. Russia already banned the aforementioned social networks in March due to "carrying out extremist activities". Meta has also been accused by Russia of promoting Russophobia.
