The world of technology and innovation is advancing by leaps and bounds every day. At any moment we can witness dramatic revelations, the introduction of revolutionary possibilities and the arrival of new systems on the market. The Russian company Kalashnikov (Kalashnikov), which is mainly known thanks to the production of the AK-47 assault rifle, has caused a worldwide sensation in recent days. The arms magnate is embarking on the development of electric cars. Their new model is intended to be a direct competitor for the biggest player in the field of electromobility and green energy – Tesla.

A fully functional electric car built on the platform of the legendary "Moskvich" is even the main weapon in the fight against Elon Musk and his globally recognized company. The electric car was presented last weekend, during the arms forum called "Army 2018". Sofia Ivanova, spokeswoman for the Kalashnikov company, made the following statement after the presentation: "This project represents direct competition for the producer of electric cars in the form of Tesla. Currently, this company is the most successful player and we want to be with them minibarely keeping up.”

Photos of the new electric car from the Russian Kalashnikov can be found in the following gallery:

According to the paper data, the vehicle has a 220 KW electric motor, while the battery will (supposedly) offer a range of up to 350 km. All this is complemented by acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6 seconds. We have not received more details about the vehicle marked "CV-1" from the company. If this project seems extremely grotesque to you, you are certainly not alone. The idea that someone would prefer a similar vehicle to Tesla's premium Model 3 or X is maximally irrelevant. The only fact that could attract this vehicle is of course the price tag. Well, if it is a foreign market, potential buyers of an electric car would certainly not be convinced even by a nice price.

Despite the fact that the announcement of the Kalashnikov company seems like a bad joke to many, several Russian producers (who are also not engaged in the production of cars) have also expressed interest in this direction. Despite the expectations, electromobility is a desired phenomenon in Russia, so we can expect many similar statements from other companies, which, in addition to automatic weapons and military equipment, also include the production of electric cars in their portfolio.
