If you asked me what kind of elder iPhone is my favorite, I would say without hesitation that it is the "five" from 2012. It was with this model that my love for Applu, but at the same time I have long considered it one of the most beautiful that has ever Apple created and in terms of functionality the best. Of course, nowadays it is iPhone 5, looking at its paper specifications, is a ridiculous piece of iron that, with a bit of exaggeration, can be shoved into your pocket, perhaps even AirPods. However, ten years ago, he literally wrote a revolution – whether by adopting a new design, Lightningu or LTE. And since I still have this piece at home as a reminder of the good old days, I decided to air it out a bit in a photo test with the newest and therefore the best iPhonem, which is currently Apple offers – i.e. model 14 Pro.

iPhone 5 made its debut on September 12, 2012, and hit store shelves on September 21. Its camera system consisted of a single rear lens with an 8MP resolution and an aperture of f/2,4. In contrast, the redesigned one, which was just a few days ago, iPhone 14 Pro It has a triple camera, where the main (i.e. wide-angle) lens has a resolution of 48MPx, but only when taking photos in ProRAW format. However, I shoot in classic PNG because I simply don't want to clog my phone with 80MB photos, which means I shoot at 12MPx with a resolution of 3024 x 4032 and an aperture of f/1,78. Although on paper it is worse than the iPhone 13 Pro, however, it should be added here that iPhones 14 Pro they have a larger sensor chip, so it should be able to capture more light than last year's generation. As for the differences in photos from the iPhone 5 and 14 Pro, judge for yourself in the galleries or slider comparison. Before you start comparing photos, however, I must warn you that although I took photos with both phones side by side, the iPhone 14's lens Pro It has a much larger field of view, so photos taken with it are always more comprehensive overall, while those taken with the "five" sometimes look a bit zoomed in.
So, how do you like photos from the iPhone 5 compared to those from the iPhone 14? Pro seem? I have to say for myself that although they are objectively worse, it is not a complete tragedy in all cases. However, ten years of evolution are clearly visible here, not only because of the noticeably darker images with less detail than the "five", but also because of the work with light that it manages iPhone 14 Pro to one, while iPhone 5 is often almost eliminated from the fight due to the brighter light. However, it is absolutely fascinating that ten years ago we perceived photos from the iPhone 5 the same way we perceive those from the iPhone 14 now. Pro – that is, as absolutely breathtaking pieces, which we almost don't understand were created on a smartphoneone.
Nice article, and a nice comparison... I have a 3gs and a 13pro at home, a photo comparison would probably be quite interesting too
The photo comparison was already here, most of the voters did not recognize the difference
Nicely crafted and succinctly written. I really like the option to compare photos by reordering them from left to right. Is there a program for that?
This is a plugin in wordpress. I think elementor and WPBakery have it at their core
I'm not saying that you can't use a plugin, but we have it solved randomly
Boskovice 👍
Honestly, I don't see that extreme of a difference. On the contrary, photos from the iPhone 5 look more realistic compared to the 14c, which brightens and overcolors the photos too much. Yes, the zoom is a different matter, it can't even be compared, but even the 5 is completely sufficient for normal needs. I was 4,5 years 6s and if he hadn't drowned, I still have him. So far, none of the newer iPhones have convinced me to buy it. I didn't notice anything so revolutionary compared to the older series.
He still takes the same disgusting photos :)
Agreed, not much of a difference, especially when you consider that I'll pay 50k for a new one vs. a 0,5k mobile phone, that's it. iPhone 5. Quite thick and just convinced me not to buy the 14 Pro.
But great article! Besides, the planet will thank me.
It honestly doesn't sound like 10-year progress to me.
