The developers from 2K quite unexpectedly announced a few hours ago that they are working on the next part, which will revive this phenomenon after they released the ramake of the first part last year and the remasters of the other two parts.

There is such an unwritten rule that the quality decreases with each subsequent work. This does not apply to series, but certainly to movies, books and games. Of course there are exceptions, but Mafia is not that exception. Of course number one was great, number two was no match for it, even though it wasn't a bad game and number three was so-so playable (I will never pre-purchase the game again). So what to expect from the four? The main character will probably be Asian, but he will be non-binary and bisexual, so everyone will find their own. The run-in line will be shallow, like the three, and maybe multiplayer full of cheaters will be added.
