Alza.cz is investing more than a billion crowns in the development of its newest logistics center in Chrášťany near Prague. This is the largest single investment in the company's history. In addition to expanding the existing area by another 15 m, the e-shop will also2 implements new Auto technologyStoreThis will significantly increase the efficiency of the warehouse and shorten the time it takes to ship goods to the customer. The supplier of the technical solution is Element Logic Czech Republic.
Alza continues to invest in its logistics centers and their robotization. This will allow the company to speed up the dispatch of orders and the delivery of goods to customers even more. After the opening of the first part of the warehouse in Chrášťany with traditional technology last year, the second, robotized part of the logistics center is being put into operation this year. The total investment exceeds one billion crowns and is the company's largest single investment to date. The development of the company's automated technologies alone will cost almost 900 million crowns. Alza will use Auto technology in its newest logistics centerStore, whose supplier and integrator is Element Logic Czech Republic.
"The goal was to find a solution that would offer the best possible use of storage space and higher work productivity, so that we could once again speed up the sending of orders to customers. Within just one year, we were able to create the tender documentation and a proposal for a solution with the winner of the tender and then, after signing the contract, fine-tune the details of the entire project," says Tomáš Havryluk, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Alza.cz

It will be one of the largest installations of the Auto systemStore in Europe, which will cover approximately 8 m2 areas and will be operated by over 400 robots. The system will also be equipped with more than 40 receiving and 30 picking stations. The movement of goods between workplaces will be ensured by conveyor technology with a length of 2,5 km. Thanks to this, this part of the logistics center alone will be able to ship 40 million pieces of goods annually.
"During the integration, there will also be a number of process changes. For example, we will introduce automatic warehousing at goods receipt and at dispatch. mini"We are reducing the need for further handling, such as packaging the order," Havryluk specifies. Automatic and semi-automatic machines will be used for packaging orders, which will reduce packages, bags and envelopes to the smallest possible size after filling. Deliveries to dispensing points will continue to be made in returnable packaging. This will further reduce the consumption of packaging material and the need for handling and increase the protection of goods during transport. "Element Logic systems help reduce waste, thus contributing to the overall sustainability of companies," adds Kadeřávek.
The e-shop plans to launch the technology in the autumn of this year and to be fully operational in 2023. "The deployment of the new technology will not only increase the capacity and performance of the warehouse, but also significantly reduce the time of the dispatch process from the current 2 hours to less than 30 minutes. This will make it possible to offer customers express delivery of orders with dispatch within a few minutes," concludes Havryluk.
The logistics center in Chrášťany includes the largest Czech showroom specialized in large household appliances and the popular AlzaDrive for contactless collection of goods directly from the car. The first part of the logistics center with an area of almost 20 m2 she opened Alza.cz already in October 2021 and equipped it with manually operated racks connected by almost 2 km of conveyor lines to move small and medium-sized goods between picking, packing and sorter for dispatch.
