In the near future, cyber battles may not only rage between Ukraine and Russia on a large scale, but also between Russia and the Czech Republic, i.e. a whole range of other countries that express support for Ukraine. At least this follows from the warning of the National Office for Cyber and Information Security (NÚKIB), which was only warned a few tens of minutes ago.

According to NÚKIB, the situation is absolutely critical at the moment, as the potential risk of unleashing a cyber war against Czech targets is increasing steeply. "We are issuing this warning from theevent"for security reasons, because the threat has risen above the normal level due to the current situation. The basis for the release is our own findings and knowledge from the activities of our partners. The information we have at our disposal leads to reasonable concern about the real threat of cyber espionage and cyber attacks on important targets in the Czech Republic, especially on strategic public administration institutions, elements of critical information infrastructure, information systems of basic services or the media," stated specifically the director of NÚKIB Karel Řehka.

In connection with the increasing risk of attacks, increased caution is therefore necessary, for example when opening unknown email attachments and the like. At the same time, it is necessary to update software to its most current version to reduce the risk of hacking. However, it should be added in one breath that even these measures are of course not 100%.
