You can find some really unbelievable things on eBay, and they're not always for noble purposes. A great example is locators. AirTags that are starting to appear more and more frequently on eBay and other similar marketplaces in a modified version. The modification consists of deactivating the speaker, which is used in the locator as one of the security features, which is intended, among other things, to alert users to potential tracking.
Speaker in AirSimply put, the tag works in such a way that after a certain period of disconnection AirThe tag from the iPhone it is paired with will beep at certain intervals to alert you, which should help you find it. So if a person is AirIf someone has been tracked by a tag for a long time and doesn't notice the notification on their iPhone or Android phone, the sound signal should alert them to the potential risk of being tracked. However, the modified version does exactly that. AirIt will not make a tag, which significantly increases theancand that it will not be revealed by the user.
ProThe actors describe the arrangement of AirTag as something they did because of the error rate of the sound signals, with the proviso that this solution is in no way intended to make it easier to track people, but the intention must be clear to everyone from the start. These modified locators are also sold in a very strange style, where the ad is always posted for only a moment and then disappears again - probably in an attempt to cover up their tracks. And the price? While for a classic AirYou can pay $29 for the Tag in the USA and 890 CZK in our country, the modified version sells for around $78 – almost 3 times more expensive than the classic version.
I don't know how they modified it. Maybe they just removed the speaker. Which anyone can do themselves. It's not that hard. Or maybe they turned off the SW somehow and the notification that someone else is with me airtag?
If you read more carefully, you would know that it is just a sound. It is clearly written in the article. So, logically, it will only be an adjustment at the sound output level.
I read the advice. For me, the sound adjustment is SW turned off. But there is only sound adjustment. And nothing more. And it is not a problem to remove the speaker at home. So max the management of the thief you write about is the release of a reprak. It's nothing complicated. Work for 1-2 min.

ProAre you a thief? Someone can remove the speaker to better protect their property. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bozWzHQdVs&t
I usually AirI edit tags for myself and others, it's a great thing to protect property, but the speaker must be removed, I already have positive references.
Several bikes saved, a trailer and the most curious thing is probably the trash can, the man kept losing trash cans, he didn't help alarm and not even a camera, AirThe tag without the speaker worked great (sticked in the case), the trash cans are back and the neighbor is embarrassed.
I got it Airtags in both cars and many other things, but most without a speaker.
AirThe tag after my modification is indistinguishable from the new one, I definitely won't cover it with glue, like in the attached video.
I wouldn't recommend anyone to use it. Airtag for tracking and other illegal uses, there are other devices on the market for that.
