The landscape of mobile gaming has changed irreversibly. Game publisher Take-Two (Grand Theft Auto series, 2K sports series) has announced that it has purchased Zynga for a hard-to-believe $12,7 billion (approximately 272 billion crowns). Thus, not only a great spillover of influence in mobile gaming took place, but also the biggest deal in the history of the gaming industry. The last record holder, the acquisition of Supercell by China's Tencent, surpassed the new record by a full two and a half billion dollars. With this purchase, Take-Two suddenly becomes the biggest force in mobile gaming. By integrating into Take-Two, Zynga also receives oversight of all current and future mobile projects of the American gaming giant.

Zynga itself has been a huge name in mobile gaming for many years. You could certainly register a company name before playing one of the games from the legendary Farmville series, for example. The company is famous for a number of such low-key games that, despite being free to play, manage to generate huge profits thanks to microtransactions. At the same time, a big uproar was caused in the past by the decision to entrust this company with the Star Wars brand. The upcoming Star Wars: Hunters game does not look like it was created for Zynga's portfolio, but according to the first reviews, it is a very fun game. How about a giant acquisition? Do you think we can now look forward to better quality games from Take-Two's iconic portfolio? Share your opinion with us in the discussion below the article.
