In today's review, we'll take a look at the JBL Wave 200TWS fully wireless headphones, which aim to impress with a relatively affordable price tag, good battery life, and solid sound. There are a huge number of models sold in the price category of up to two thousand crowns these days, let's see how this one from JBL costs and whether it deserves any attention when making a decision.

Specifications

The sound performance of this model is provided by 8 mm dynamic drivers with a frequency range of 20 Hz - 20 kHz and a sensitivity of 108 dB. Communication with the phoneonem or other devices via Bluetooth 5.0. Power is provided by two integrated batteries, each with a capacity of 48 mAh, thanks to which the headphones can boast up to five hours of battery life (of course, depending on the method of use). In the charging box we find another battery, this time with a capacity of 500 mAh, which can charge the headphones a total of three times, so the headphones can boast a total of about 20 hours of battery life. The case is charged via USB-C toonewhich takes about 2 hours from empty to full. Of course, there are integrated microphones for phone calls. The headphones weigh a total of 47,5 grams and are available in four colors. variantách – black, blue, purple and white.

Proknowledge

Both the headphones and the charging case are completely made of plastic. The only non-plastic part is the silicone earplugs. The plastic used is semi-matte with a slightly rough texture, only on the outside of the headphones we can find a shiny piece of decorative plastic, and this is where the touch surfaces used to control the headphones are located. The use of plastic in headphones in this price range is completely fine, in the long run it is only a question of how long the plastic joint in the charging case will last. Despite the materials used, it looks like it should last a bit. The strength of the magnets that hold the headphones in the box is also sufficient, as is the strength with which the lid of the charging case is closed. USB-C toonewhich is located on the bottom of the package, on the front side under the JBL logo we will find a notification LED that warns us, for example, of a low battery.

Ergonomics and controls

The headphones are very light and at the same time sit well in the ears, so they are comfortable to wear and after a while you don't even know they are there. The package comes standard with three silicone inserts (S, M and L), which should ensure that the headphones fit most potential users. A significant ergonomic advantage is that the headphones are controlled via touch surfaces, unlike other models that have physical buttons. All you have to do is place your finger on the touch surfaces and the headphones will respond. There is no pushing of the headphones towards the ear, as is the case with models with buttons. In terms of ergonomics, there is not much to complain about here, but it is understandable that the comfort or discomfort when wearing it will differ from user to user, as everyone has a slightly different ear. The headphones only offer basic controls, i.e. play/pause, skip and volume +/-. So there is no need to use various complex gestures. The control is very simple and any user can handle it without any problems.

Sound

The sound profile of the headphones is, in a word, excellent. Of course, it is necessary to take into account that this is a model selling for less than two thousand crowns and one cannot expect miracles, however, within its price range, I dare to say that these are above-average-sounding headphones. They offer solid bass performance with slightly accentuated highs, the overall sound performance is pleasant and classically "modern", an undemanding user will not have much to criticize. The passive level of isolation from the outside world is surprisingly good and the headphones are (also thanks to the high max(minimum volume) very well usable even in noisy urban public transport. The sound cannot be changed in any way (there is no compatibility with the accompanying application), but in the end it is not really necessary. The headphones play decently on their own, and that is the most important thing.

záver

The JBL Wave 200TWS are headphones that perfectly fulfill the role of a simple but well-functioning product without any "necessities" around that would bring some extra comfort or functions, but at the same time would understandably increase the price. If you're looking for simple wireless headphones with solid sound and durability, don't require any extra features, or don't want to overpay for anything beyond the basics, the JBL Wave 200TWS are a great choice.
