If we look at the Spotify app (free for iOS), apparently we can say that it works well and reliably. However, developers are trying to constantly improve the user experience, which, frankly, can be a really big problem with similar applications over time. But Spotify comes with an interesting and possibly useful feature. Once you say "Hey Spotify" while the app is open, you can ask the "assistant" to play a song or podcast.

This feature has been tested for some time and is gradually being expanded for both users iOS, for Android device owners. It's hard to say whether you'll have it available at the moment. For example, I don't have it yet. If you click on the settings gear, go to "Voice Interactions" and click "Hey Spotify". Although the function is quite limited compared to other voice assistants (you have to have the application turned on), it may find its use. In addition to playing a specific song or podcast, you can also ask for a song "that" you like to be played. Do you welcome this solution as a new feature that will benefit the application? Do you have any requests for the application in the future that could lead to its improvement?
I am honestly a supporter of Music and when Apple will pay close attention
Music as an application to add new elements and perhaps better than Spot. So you will not have to have Spot turned on. To be able to listen to siri conveniently dictate what you want to play even now without having to open appky. ☻︎
