TSMC, which is the main supplier of processors for Apple, is on track to start producing computersonent using the 3nm process. Production using the more advanced technology should begin in the second half of this year, and the manufacturer should be able to process thirty thousand wafers. This was reported by DigiTimes this week.
However, it will definitely not stop at this production volume - TSMC reportedly plans to expand its 3nm production capacity to up to 50 thousand units.onent per month, but this increase should not occur until 2022. Next year, the production volume should even reach 105 thousand units per month. The 3nm process guarantees 30% lower energy consumption and 15% higher performance compared to the 5nm process. However, TSMC should also increase production volume in the case of the 5nm process, mainly because demand from clients is constantly increasing. According to the latest reports, TSMC should increase production to 105 thousand units per month in the first half of this year, while this amount was 90 thousand units in the fourth quarter of last year. During the second half of this year, the 5nm process should then increase to 120 thousand units per month, and in 2024, TSMC's goal is to achieve monthly production of 160 thousand units. In addition AppTSMC's customers include AMD, MediaTek, Xilinx, Marvell, Broadcom and Qualcomm.
