It's the same every year. once Apple will release a new one iPhone, other manufacturers are trying to beat it in every way. Performance is no exception, of course. The new chip Apple The A14 Bionic is the first chip Applu made with a 5nm process that boasts great performanceoneme with thrift. In this regard, she wanted Apple to beat Qualcomm with its Snapdragon 888 chip, which is expected to dominate the flagship Androids this year. Various benchmarks are already appearing and, according to Geekbench 5, the values of the new Snapdragon seem to be decent. But it lags behind the chip Apple A14, even for the year-old "á thirteen".

Now for more specific data. In the aforementioned benchmark, the Snapdragon scored 1135 points in the single-core test. In the multi-core test, it scored 3794 points. IPhone 12 Pro with the A14 chip it reached 1603 and 4187 points in the same benchmark. Over a year old iPhone 11 Pro then received 1331 and 3366. It is therefore necessary to note that in the multi-core test the Snapdragon 888 has a slight advantage over the A13. When it comes to testing graphics performance, in GFXBench the Snapdragon reached 86 frames per second, which places it behind the iPhone SE 2nd generation, 11 and 12. It seems that the Snapdragon will not reach the king of performance, however, the chip should be able to maintain sufficient performance even with low power consumption, which would mean that it could be more economical compared to Apple chips.

If we look at this comparison impartially, it must be admitted that Qualcomm has improved its chip considerably. In terms of performance, it is an increase of 25%, and in terms of GPU performance, even 35%. Personally, I think that the performance of flagship chips today is so high that the vast majority of users are not able to use it, and if over time it turns out that iPhone launches applications a few seconds earlier, it leaves me cold. The aforementioned efficiency may be more interesting. But we will have to wait for some time for a comparison.
