There are never enough good platformers. The genre is very popular among less experienced developers and the resulting titles are sometimes very contradictory. But you don't have to worry about the quality of the newly released Pixboy. The game has been tested for years on larger platforms, where it has won many awards from critics. At first glance, Pixboy seems to have fallen out of ancient digital games or cartridge of the first Game Boy, the retro aesthetic is complemented by nostalgic digital music beeping. Pixboy looks like a relic of the past and is duly inspired by a number of legendary platformers. It pays homage to icons such as Super Mario Bros., Commander Keen or Shovel Knight in the most sincere way. However, no platformer lives on nostalgia alone.

The game was developed by a two-person development team at Oak Games, but the amount of content in the final game is not much of a factor. Pixboy, the titular character, sets out on a journey of revenge after a pack of cunning dogs steals the ingredients for a secret elixir from him. He must track them down through forty levels divided into four worlds. Each area offers unique game mechanics and a final boss. The game allows you to complete a number of achievements, including completing levels within the time limit and completing the game without killing a single enemy. If you want, Pixboy will allow you to become a sworn pacifist. You can try the game in the near future – on App Store should arrive very soon.
