On Tuesday Apple has sent out the long-awaited invitations to its second fall conference. It will take place next Tuesday at 19:00 PM local time at the Steve Jobs Theater. One of the products that could debut on Tuesday is AirTag – the first locator in history Applu. Although its premiere is according to sources leakerand Jonah ProIt's uncertain, but considering that his arrival was almost 100% expected just a few dozen hours ago, I think it would be a good idea to include him in this miniseries - especially since we don't know whether its "non-arrival" is 100%. In the following lines, we will therefore summarize everything we already know about it and therefore what we expect from it overall.

Appearance

Thanks to the big leak of information about AirTag from the past few weeks, its design is already practically clear. It is supposed to look, with a bit of exaggeration, like a large lens, which will apparently consist of two parts, thanks to which it will be possible to "clip" it to various objects. It is not clear at the moment how big the product will be, but given that it is supposed to be similar in type to other locators on the market, we can expect very small dimensions. A size similar to a twenty-crown or fifty-crown coin would not be surprising. If you are interested in the manufacturing material, metal is expected, which will be painted white on one side and left in a classic shine on the other, which will break up the logo Appyou.

Function

Since it is supposed to be a locator, the main function of the product will be to help locate the objects "marked" by them. This will be done through the Find application, in the same style in which, for example, the display of the location of your individual devices, or your friends, now works. However, it is necessary to emphasize that since the product will not have a connection to the mobile network, its functionality will be significantly limited - in fact, it should "only" be able to notify you that you have, for example, an object marked AirThey forgot the tag somewhere, because the locator will disconnect from your iPhone. On the other hand, this function is ultimately the most useful for the average user, because it is the most useful in everyday life. In addition to the ability to "let you know that the user has forgotten something", it should be AirTag searchable through the AR interface in the Find app.

Charging and endurance

Until recently, it was expected that AirTags will have replaceable button batteries. However, according to current information, it looks like it will not beonec after all Apple decides to use a classic rechargeable battery, which we are used to from its other products. It should be charged using a magnetic charging cable for Apple Watch and probably only once in a while. Energy intensity AirThe tag will not be very high, since it will be used de facto only for connectivity with the phone.oneand therefore "feeding" the U1 chip, which will serve to more accurately localize it in space in newer Apple products equipped with the same chip. We therefore do not expect that we would AirThey recharged the tags more often than once a month. A higher frequency would be quite uncomfortable for a similar product.

Price

Unfortunately, we don't know much about the price of the new product yet. In recent weeks, there has been information that it should range between 69 and 99 dollars (i.e. approximately 1600 to 2300 crowns without tax and other fees), but we don't dare to say whether that will be the case at the moment. However, one thing is clear now - if he wants to Apple To succeed with a new product, it will have to set the price as low as possible, more or less regardless of what it can do better than the competition. Proproducts of a similar type are not sold very expensively on the market and it is very unlikely that he would be able to prove this fact Apple albeit with a more sophisticated product to change more significantly. In short, it is not a thing without which one could not function, which is why its acquisition is not a priority for users, which significantly reduces their willingness to spend a lot of money for them.
