Every once in a while, a curiosity emerges in the tech world that captures the attention of not only tech enthusiasts, but also previously uninterested fans and even evil tongues. And believe it or not, usually behind such absurdity nestnone other than designers who participate in the concepts of future Apple devices and actively present to the community bold proposals of how some products could look. The same is true of The Casual Engineer channel, which does not have too many subscribers, but does not hide its passion. This time, engineer and designer Michael Pick focused on the iMac and decided to break the record. Specifically, to create the smallest personal computer Applu in the world, which would function similarly to the desktop one.
You probably never wished for a smaller iMac, because it would unnecessarily disrupt comfort and, above all, hinder your work, but as Pick clearly showed, everything is possible and in practice quite feasible. However, it is necessary to note that the device, of course, does not run on the official macOS and instead uses the Raspberry Pi 4 and the special iRaspbian operating system. Install the official system from Applu is almost impossible in this case, let alone effectively combining it with hardware other than the one it was designed for. Still, it's a remarkable piece of engineering work, and it's no wonder. Pick focused on 3D printing while also installing a 7-inch display and getting rid of two USB-A ports and Ethernet. Either way, you can see the final result for yourself.
She is…
Well, that's quite a pig job.
