One great era is unfortunately over. The highly successful singer Karel Gott, who was loved by millions of people around the world, died shortly before midnight on Tuesday at the age of 80. The cause was acute leukemia, which he admitted to the public this September. Unfortunately, Karel has been struggling with oncological health problems since 2015.
The mark that Karel Gott left on Czech and world music is undoubtedly indelible. The loss of this phenomenal singer hurts all the more. So let's pay a silent tribute to this musical icon of many generations.
