In 1934, businessman Gerhard Zucker attempted to launch a rocket with mail from the mainland to the Isle of Wight in southern England. Inventor Richard Browning took this to the next level. He flew the section between the mainland and the island in a suit he had built himself. He flew 1,3 kilometers in 75 seconds and his top speed was 96 km/h.
