In Frenchancii had the idea for a solar road three years ago. So they decided to take action and installed a kilometer-long section with solar panels. A good idea, you might say. But according to a local newspaper, it's a flop. The panels have reportedly started to peel off from the road, they only generate half the expected energy, and the speed limit has been reduced to 70 km/h because driving over the photovoltaic panels seemed too noisy. Given that the panels are also falling apart, renovation will probably be needed soon.
