When ordering the "Package in Hand" service, the Czech Post promises to deliver the ordered parcel to the addressee. But in recent months, in some cases, they only store the package at the nearest branch. At the same time, the price for delivery remains the same, and customer dissatisfaction affects online stores as well. They do not like the approach of the state enterprise at all. According to the Association for Electronic Commerce (APEK), the number of complaints from shoppers in e-shops has been increasing recently. At least one such complaint was encountered by more than half of the traders surveyed in the past three months.

One of the main advantages of shopping online is the fact that the customer can notchat deliver the order to the address according to their needs. This saves them from traveling, queues and other inconveniences. And this is exactly what the Czech Post's Parcel in Hand service is intended for. "Unfortunately, we have been experiencing complaints from shoppers in recent months. Instead of the ordered package, they will only receive a ticket in the mailbox with the information that the package is stored at the ČP office. Previously, we encountered the laziness of individual delivery men, who left calls to addressees even when they were at home. Currently, everything seems more like a systemic matter," says the executive director of APEK Jan A omen.

There are too many complaints

According to a recent survey among APEK members, more than half of respondents from among traders have recorded complaints from their customers about the behavior of Czech Post. Pro For e-shops, this situation means several inconveniences. First of all, it should be mentioned that the Parcel to Hand service is charged at a higher price compared to Parcel to Post. The online store will therefore pay a higher standard price than the post office.onec can provide to the buyer. Another significant problem is the dissatisfaction of e-shop customers - they associate the inconvenience of package delivery not only with Czech Post, but also with the store itself. However, the latter cannot essentially influence this violation of the agreed terms.

"I even have a recent personal experience with a situation where a parcel was stored for me at a branch of the Czech Post without any attempt to deliver it. At the counter, I was informed that the branch was directly instructed which shipments it should not even attempt to deliver, allegedly due to capacity reasons," he adds Jan Vetyška's personal experience and adds: "Pro It's a big inconvenience for e-shops. At the same time, it's difficult to determine exactly how many customers have been harmed, as not all of them complain. The situation is further complicated by the fact that the consumer who orders delivery via the online store does not have a direct contractual relationship with Czech Post. "Theoretically, the buyer should contact the seller and the seller should then contact the Czech Post. However, many customers do not want to go through this process due to the relatively low amount. Thanks to this barrier, the Post is left with funds for a service that it did not provide. While this may not be a huge sum for an individual, in total it can be significant amounts. The carrier sells the service, but in reality it saves delivery costs and keeps the funds for itself.onecha,Vetyška further points out.

Most popular is least popular?

As can be seen from the data provided to the APEK association by the company Balíkobot.cz, customers choose Balík do rúk from the services of the Czech Post significantly more often. The ratio of orders for this service compared to Package by Post is 70% to 30%. "The results we have available show that more than 17% of parcels sent as Parcel in Hand were not delivered directly to the addressee this year, but were picked up at a Czech Post branch," he adds Jan A omen.

Online stores are very worried about the current situation. It negatively affects both their behavior and the situation of consumers. They often order the Package in hand service through e-shops. The Association for Electronic Commerce (APEK) is asking the management of Czech Post for an urgent solution to this situation, which is unacceptable in its current form.
