LG thinks so with the production of an OLED display that uses i Apple, apparently very serious. After there were speculations a few days ago that it would become the second supplier of these displays for this year and continue with deliveries in the future, LG officially announced on Tuesday that it would soon invest in its production lines for OLED displays in South Korea 2,6 billion dollars. Thanks to this, they should be able to handle the mass production of displays of the highest quality without any problems Apple require.

This year's financial results for LG are probably not as great as it had hoped. The production migration from classic LCD displays to OLED is taking much longer than originally expected, and this is also affecting profits. While investments in special OLED production lines are continuing, their production is not yet up to the speed the company needs. However, the investment announced yesterday could already make this plan a reality.oneIt would be a win-win for both LG and Apple. This is because he prefers several suppliers to one, as this avoids potential problems with supplies. If one of the suppliers runs into any difficulties, it is usually not a problem to at least partially replace it by increasing production at other suppliers.

Next year in three

In addition to Samsung and LG, the Chinese company BOE is also interested in the production of displays for iPhones, which are, by the way, one of the most expensive components of these phones. According to the available information, Applem is negotiating intensively, and if the two companies can come to an agreement, it will cost absolutely nothing to the production of displays in the BOE factories. However, a potential deal would certainly not please Samsung, for whom OLED production for iPhones is a gold mine. But everything will show much better in the following days and weeks.
