They say that a successful person or product can be recognized by the fact that someone copies it. If this were true, AppWe would only speak in superlatives. It is the Apple company's products that very often serve as a template for various, mainly Asian, manufacturers who shamelessly copy their designs and then sell their versions of iPhones and iPads as genuine, albeit at a fraction of the price. But how high-quality can such phones actually be?

A Motherboard editor shared his impressions of testing a fake iPhone X, having managed to get one for $100, exactly one-tenth the price of a genuine 64GB iPhone X. So how did the phone fare? Of course, it didn't work out.

In terms of design, the Asian manufacturer certainly had an eye for detail. According to the editor, the phone was almost indistinguishable from the original at first glance. For example, the manufacturer thought about the screws next to the Lightning konewhich coincide with those used by Apple. But the convincing appearance is more or less the only thing this copy has going for it.

That it is not real iPhone You can tell the X almost immediately after turning it on. It's not at all difficult to see, for example, that the upper notch in the display is just a software matter, which aims to imitate the original from the iPhone. The bottom of the display is then bordered by a really wide frame, which also spoils the overall impression of the phone. But since it is of course black, you won't notice this detail when the display is turned off.

After disassembling a fake iPhone X, you will notice at first glance that it is definitely not the original:

iOS don't look in it

According to the editor, the system itself is also laughable. In the settings, you can, for example, set up unlocking via Face ID, which is "provided" by the classic front camera on this phone. The animation for adding a face does work in some way, but in the end it means absolutely nothing, since everyone can unlock the phone without any problems. " also suffers from major imperfectionsApp Store", so of course disguised Google Playor Apple Mapsbehind which they hide Google MapsFrom this, it is probably clear to you that the phone runs the Android system, which is, however, very poorly optimized in this version and apparently full of dangerous bugs.

The editor took the phone to the security experts, who took a good in-depth look at his operating system, and the result was definitely not pleasant. In fact, they discovered a lot of "back doors" in the system for possible intrusion into the phone or dangerous software through which phone users could be monitored, for example. It is also quite funny that applications that look like native ones try to spy - that is, for example Akcie, Kompas or Hodiny. They also ask for permission to view text messages.

Bottom line, total – counterfeit iPhone X and therefore no other product from AppIt's not worth buying. You'll save a lot of money, but in the end you'll be left with tears in your eyes from throwing your money out the window. You really don't want to use a phone that is absolutely unreliable and that tries to spy on you even through Kompas.
