It has certainly happened to you that when trying to take the best photo, you did not use the best exposure or other necessary settings, and the photo appeared in koneresulting in a grainy impression. Of course, photo editing software exists, but Nvidia comes up with a revolutionary method that venuis of this issue. The company is working on research with scientists from MIT and Aalto University that will help isolate grainy elements in photos.

Proa project called Noise2Noise AI has the task of scanning photos using artificial intelligence and then correcting them based on the recorded data. As with any artificial intelligence, this research also involves a kind of "virtual training". In this case, the AI was trained on over 50,000 different images, which are supposed to help in an effort to add missing or low-quality pixels to photos. The researchers report that the system can remove disturbed grainy features and replace them with high-quality details.
By using the Noise2Noise system, grainy photos will no longer create wrinkles on your forehead.
This type of artificial intelligence will certainly find use in practice, which may concern, for example, lower-quality cameras in mobile phones and tablets. However, research has shown that the system appears to be extra effective for MRI scanning or editing astronomical images. A system supported by Intel and Illin works on a similar principleiosby the University. The latter has the task of increasing the quality and details of images taken in the dark, which the company plans to use later in improving night vision devices.
Prothe project called Noise2Noise will be presented in more detail already this week, during the International Conference on Computer Learning in Sweden. So it is more than likely that we will learn more about this ambitious project and its use in practice from a more detailed presentation by Nvidia and scientists from MIT.
