A new generation of watches Apple Watch se We will probably see it in the fall, so there are naturally many speculations about what new features it will bring. One of the most requested is an improvement in the GPS module, which lags behind competing devices.
This speculation is also aided by the fact that Apple s watchOS 5 adds Rolling Mile Pace (shows in real time how fast you ran the last mile) and Custom Pace Alerts (monitors whether you're following your desired pace). And measuring your running speed, on which these features are based, is not its strong point. Apple WatchThe original model didn't have GPS at all, and if you didn't have yours with you iPhone, the results of the distance traveled and speed calculated using the accelerometer were not very accurate.

From the second series, the watches already have a built-in GPS sensor, which achieves more accurate results in terms of the distance covered, but there are already inaccuracies when displaying the speed directly while running. The displayed data is not very responsive when accelerating and decelerating, even at a consistent speed it skips different values. And when comparing, for example, with the TomTom Runner 2 when running on an outdoor circuit, everything mentioned above was confirmed - the result of the distance traveled was more accurate in Apple Watch, but the running route shown on the map was much more accurate and precise with the TomTom watch, as you can see below.
It is therefore obvious that the improvement of the GPS module would be new Apple Watch It certainly benefited and pleased many runners. Many of them would like to use watches from Applu, but due to the quality of the measured data, they prefer to use those from other manufacturers. The accuracy of measuring heart rate or distance traveled, but of course all other functions not related to running, are at a high level and do not need an upgrade as much as GPS.
Whether it is precisely on this issue Apple focused, we will find out in a few months, when it will most likely be revealed Apple Watch Series 4. What would you most like to see in the new generation?
I think in the fall Apple Watch will not be introduced…
I also . .
I don't know about the 2-s, but the 3-s are absolutely fine (in addition to GPS, they also have GLONASS). But I recommend the TomTom ones the most out of all the smart watches, because you can manage data via the web interface - transfer it to Endomondo, etc. in various ways, which is a huge advantage. I don't recommend iPhone owners to buy any Samsung Gear watch - after a month your measured data will be lost or you will suddenly not be able to update it iOS pair and you will wait 1-2 weeks for the update so don't get fooled into thinking they are compatible with iOS
I have triplets, I use the diet and I do not register any such problem at all
I also use the AW3 as an emergency solution when I don't have my Garmin with me. And totally OK. Even in an urban environment it looked better to me than running.
The battery clearly needs improvement. If it's rich, maybe it's enough for you on the circuit, but on longer routes, the watch is useless. Unfortunately, on Garmin, sometimes they don't have a lot of functions...
