In the future, this innovation could also be a simplification for doctors, who at the same time have to perform a lot of physical tests when they suspect Parkinson's disease. If the patient is not in the hospital under the supervision of doctors, they most often have to keep a diary in order to record the manifestations of symptoms. Thanks Apple Watch so that all muscle restlessness could be clearly and reliably recorded in the graph of the application.

ResearchKit, which makes such monitoring possible, was announced in March 2015. Since then, it has been widely used by scientists to study sleep, autism, and epilepsy, for example. The Parkinson's monitoring feature was preceded by quite detailed research thanks to the mPower application. This application already uses ResearchKit and, using a gyroscope and other sensors, attributes such as agility, balance, gait, and memory were measured in ten thousand participants. ProThis is probably the largest research project on Parkinson's disease.
