This morning we are they brought the first information clarifying the current situation with eSIM support from Czech operators. From T-Mobile and Vodafoneone We received an official statement on how far along the development of the built-in SIM card is and how realistic its early arrival is. Apple Watch Series 3 with LTE to the Czech Republic. Following this, we coincidentally found out more interesting information today, which comes directly from the Czech representation Applu. We learned, for example, that Apple he sets certain conditions that will delay the LTE model of his new watch to us.
According to the information, we should wait for the launch of eSIM from one of the operators already at the beginning of the year. By all accounts, it should be T-Mobile, which is probably the furthest along with testing the built-in SIM card at the moment. Even in the answer we received from the T-Mobile representative, we learned that from their side the technology is practically ready and at the moment we are only waiting for the hardware manufacturer, i.e. Apple.
However, if we lit a glimmer of hope for you with the previous paragraph and you have already started hoping for the availability of the LTE model of the third series Apple Watch in the Czech Republic early next year, we'll probably spoil your fun now. AppThere is only one operator that will support eSIM in the country, nestThe need is miniat least two, only then will Apple Watch with LTE start selling in our country. One operator could be on Appeasily attract and attract all customers who would like to buy new Apple Watch wanted to use.

The second operator that will soon support eSIM should be O2, but we have not yet received a statement from the only operator. However, if we subsequently receive a response, we will notify you. O2 should follow T-Mobile, but it is a question of when exactly they will launch eSIM support in our country. But if T-Mobile keeps its word, starts with eSIM already at the beginning of the year, and O2 joins it soon, then it is quite possible that on Apple Watch SeWe won't have to wait that long for the ries 3, it might appear on retailers' shelves in six months. On the other hand, we know Apple and its slow expansion of its services (Apple Pay) and products (first Apple Watch) to countries such as the Czech Republic, so we rather believe that the LTE model will arrive with the new generation Apple Watch. Maybe the company will be pleasantly surprised.
It's not that far to Germany, so I would buy the watch there, with the fact that once T-Mobile starts supporting it here, it could be functional right away. I assume that technologically German watches will be the same as Czech ones, i.e. it should work purely theoretically.
LTE Apple Watch Series 3 only work in the country where they were purchased. This means that AW3 (LTE) from Germany will not work in the Czech Republic.
So I understand from all the articles and reviews that they will only work in the country of activation... if they are purchased in Germany, but they are activated with the road and the Czech Republic is selected as the country, and then the Czech Esim is loaded there again, so should work in CR.. ie. You are not allowed to activate primo in Germany. So if I don't activate them primo v appledamn what i think i'm not doing right? because according to what you write, for each country where the watch will be sold, they would have to make modified sw for that country, and those countries will probably be fine..
I do not believe it. Apple produce only one LTE watch model (with different cases) for the whole of Europe. I think you are quoting the crap of only one Apple employedance. I read it somewhere on an English website. And who knows what kind of job it wasance.

So, whatever you think, call the time in the country where you bought your watch? That may be a bit of an exaggeration. :/
Well, if that's the case, it's basically a good thing in Europe.
To the first link. It's exactly the article I was referring to. It was said by some employee who I don't think understands the issue at all. Yes, the American version Apple Watch it won't be possible to use much in Europe, even if it doesn't fully apply either. The American version supports the very widespread 800 MHz LTE band in the EU, which has the largest coverage in every EU country, see
https://www.apple.com/watch/cellular/
The only problem will occur in cities where higher frequencies are often used, which have a smaller range, and therefore it is possible to thicken the coverage and especially the capacity, and at the same time it is quite likely that the 800 MHz frequency is not used at all. So in such a place the AW3 would not have coverage. The 3G coverage of the American version cannot be used at all in Europe. They use it for us neststandard frequency.
The second article describes something we have known since day 1. Roaming with AW is not possible. But roaming is not the same as activating your watch in that country. Roaming apparently does not work due to the replication of the phone number on two (or more) SIM cards and the possibly complicated way of their roaming use.
I will believe that the EU version bought in DE, for example, cannot be activated in FR with the appropriate supported operator (both countries where AW3LTE is already supported) when I see the official support article published by Applem. Some employee's bullshitancIt won't convince me of that.
Well then. As a story, it's nice, yes, BUT what about the condition, right? Apple wants to miniAt least two operators in the country?
When in countries like England, Germany and Franceancie there is only one operator with support for LTE in Apple Watch.
Esim could also be in iPhones, not only in watches. Nowadays, using huge sim cards is a waste of space, especially when a chip the size of a cigarette lighter can replace it. Just look at the motherboard of the iPhone, it would save a lot of space...
One day it will definitely be like that. In the case Appmaybe soon.
Apple Watch Series 3 or much ado about nothing. The article makes me feel as if tomorrow will be too late. Where are you in a hurry? You are already pushing the operators to launch it and when that happens, the article will be published on the second / third day, where you will Apple Watch Series 3 is hated because of the battery capacity. Prowhich is supposedly durable in full operation with LTE max 5h. Well, in the next article you will hate the operators, because they will get really bad on the impatient - I definitely don't expect the prices to be cheap, and Czech operators will be happy to take advantage of this in Czech conditions (especially if there are only two of them at the beginning).
Apple Watch Series 3 – for running “without a mobile phone”, let's say… But does it make sense? I don't think so. Apple Watch Series 2 (or three without LTE) is more than enough for now and let's wait for Apple Watch four, where they will probably catch the capacity. In addition, the new series should be able to measure "blood sugar", which will be a rational reason for many to upgrade.

ProI'll definitely buy a watch that I'll only use in the country of activation. :-DV Applu officially thinks people are stupid dicks.
I would like to know if the iWatch Series 3, if I buy it in the USA, will not work at all in the Czech Republic? Or just the LTE will not work and everything else will work? thanks for the info ;)
Oh, and this was written in September 2017. It'sonec June 2018 and where there is nothing, there is nothing. Our famous operators are 100 years behind the monkeys >:(
You koneJanuary 2019 and no change :D
