Yesterday we wrote about how the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities released another dose of information, this time regarding the upcoming ones Apple Watch. It was mainly the presence of LTE and the preservation of the design and sizes as we know them from previous models. Another comment from him appeared this afternoon, in which he elaborates a little more on yesterday's news, especially with regard to LTE and its functionality.

Ming-Chi Kuo assumes that Apple will not use classic SIM cards in its new watch, but will go in the direction of the so-called eSIM. It would be a logical decision, as the use of classic SIM cards would take up a lot of space, which is not too much in a small watch.

Another important point is that the newly added data connection will not be used for calls as originally thought. LTE in the watch should be used primarily for mobile data transmission. So again, you probably won't be able to make a call from your watch without an iPhone. Instead, however, they will be significantly more independent when it comes to data transfers.

However, only classic calls should be unsupported, there is no mention of a VoIP ban anywhere. It is therefore possible that services such as Skype or FaceTime could paradoxically work. The last mention from Ku's report is that he expects they won't get it this year either Apple Watch Android platform support.
