Yesterday we informed you about a hacker attack on computers around the world. Less than 24 hours after the outbreak, the world already knows some additional information about this act. So let's briefly recap the progress of the attack and add more details.

A crippling hacker attack hit the world on Friday afternoon. According to the latest information, the hackers were able to block 60 computers worldwide with their virus and demanded a ransom to unlock them. Malicious software named WannaCry 000 was able to paralyze most British hospitals, Spanish telephone operators and some companies across all countries. The updated information talks about a total of 2.0 countries affected by the attack. Russia, Ukraine and Taiwan report the highest incidence of the virus. Fresh information confirms hacker attacks in Russia, especially on police computers.

Fortunately, the Czech Republic is at the bottom of the list of infested countries, the number of attacks in our country should be within 20. This information was provided by one of the attacked users, who even communicated with the attackers in connection with the ransom.

There is no universal solution for unblocking

Avast's security expert confirmed to the portal listthat there is no other option than to pay the ransom. According to him, every computer is encrypted in a specific way, which is why it is practically impossible to decrypt it. According to him, the use of this virus has recently been a very popular way of earning money precisely because of its resistance to third-party interventions for removal. The virus is unique mainly in that it penetrates extremely deep into computers and infects de facto everything from hard drives to cloudThe user suddenly loses everything. The only option is to pay the ransom, which is $300 in the electronic currency Bitcoin for one computer.

The virus spread mainly through spam accounts on Facebookua spam emails. These unsolicited messages contained infected attachments. The paradox is that these attachments already had the .ransomware extension, so they could have been detected relatively easily by the user if they had been more attentive.

Where did the threat come from?

The whole world is now trying to figure out who developed this malware first and who spread it. So far, it seems that the virus has been spread from several places around the world, but more precise data is not yet available.

But when it comes to the development of the virus itself, the information is much more interesting. According to some reports, this virus was invented by the American government agency NSA. However, it was hacked some time ago and the dangerous malware ended up in the hands of hacker groups. They began to use it in a way that we are familiar with from yesterday. Several foreign websites, led by the intercept , came up with this information.
