A few days ago we saw the release of another game from Nintendo, this time called Fire Emblem Heroes. This is the first of a series of games planned to be released this year for iOS (and also for the Android platform). Nintendo is thus following up on last fall, when the controversial hit Super Mario Run was released. Over the weekend, information appeared on the web about how the new product performed after the first 24 hours of its official launch. Although these are not extra informative numbers, but rather a product of pre-release hype, it is still an interesting comparison with other popular titles.

The top-grossing game in its first 24 hours is Pokémon Go!, which was released last summer. Given the incredible hype surrounding the game, Pokémon Go! earned an incredible $24 million in its first 10,2 hours (earnings are calculated worldwide, and from sales on App Store a Google Play). In second place is the already mentioned game Super Mario Run, which earned "only" $24 million in the first 8,4 hours. The newly released Fire Emblems Heroes is credited with $2,9 million, making it third. In fourth place is the popular Clash Royale, with "only" $1,4 million.

As for the total number of downloads, foreign sources say the number is around two million (for both platforms). This is much less than Pokémon Go! or Super Mario Run. However, the significantly lower popularity of this brand plays a big role here and miniMajor promotion before release. For example, Pokémon Go! had more than 4 million downloads on its first day. Super Mario Run had more than 6 million.
