It has been several years since it became the main supplier of dedicated GPUs for Apple AMD. Cooperation Applu and AMD dates back to 2014, when AMD replaced the rival company nVidia, which Applem has been working together for several years. This change of partners occurred partly because one generation of graphics solutions from nVidia was somewhat more problematic and in computers from Applu did not do any good. Since then, Apple cooperates with the "reds", but now it looks like the situation could change again. And one could say that theoneyes.

Information appeared on the nVidia website that the company is looking for several new people to help them prepare the best Apple products. The job description literally says "..to help prepare the company's next revolutionary product." Apple" and employedanceven in this position they will work ".. in close partnership with Applem". This is very likely a position that will deal with the implementation of new graphics chips from nVidia into MacBooks/iMacs. And that should be damn good news.
Next refresh MacBookwill contain graphics chips of the Polaris architecture, which comes from AMD. However, in the current (and some would suggest that not only in this) generation, AMD has somewhat missed the train and nVidia is significantly ahead with its graphics processors. This is especially true in terms of the efficiency of the architecture itself, which is a very important aspect when used in laptops. In the next version MacBookWe won't see graphics from Nvidia on the new iMacs, but next year's update could include graphics solutions from the "greens." And that's really good news after a long time.

interestingly, it is written elsewhere that AMD could produce processors for Apple... in any case, I would not buy a laptop with a dedicated card
It's a shame... nVidia is ahead of the curve with its software tricks. AMD has raw power. If nVidia loses competition, they will raise prices even more. A little optimization on the system side and AMD will beat nVidia in everything.
Can I see where AMD has any raw performance advantage? It probably won't be in the current generation, when they only have overpriced mainstream cards and lower. AMD didn't show much of it in the last generation either. They hyped Fury X to the skies and thenoneIt was a tragedy.
AMD does have performance, but TDP :-)
nVidia would be for us users MacbookI don't believe it's a win. Apple reinstall nVidia for one reason, Cook sees Apple tvred on margins, commissions and profit... and what are we going to say, AMD will deliver Applu chips much cheaper than Nvidia would be willing to supply them.
