Do App Store A few days ago, a modest application from a young Slovak developer arrived, which is the first to be able to stream Czech and foreign TV stations. The application is really very simple and does not have any sophisticated graphics, but it fulfills its purpose and can actually play selected TV channels directly on the iPhone or iPad without any problems.
Starting the programs itself is a little more complicated at first glance, because one would expect that here you will find previews of the stations themselves, which you just click on and the playback starts, but this is not the case. There are special links in the application that you copy and paste into a specific field located under the "Open" button in the upper right corner. Once you add the link and confirm it, the player itself will start.
The player can also be launched in landscape mode and even offers the option to change the language. audio tracks (if the movie supports it) or add subtitles. You can also use the button to screenshot and . Interestingly, you can even pause the station while playing and if you start it again, it will start playing exactly where you left off. However, you can only pause playback for a moment on some stations, but with ČT 1 it is possible for several minutes.
Ceske Televizie Player, as the application is called, cannot boast of any first-class user interface and not even a few functions, but it will certainly serve well for the occasional viewing of TV stations on the iPhone. I never got stuck playing and everything runs smoothly, even on 4G. However, it won't be much for watching TV for a long time on the train, or only for someone with a large data package.
Ceske Televizie Player currently supports the following TV stations: ČT 1, ČT 2, ČT 24, ČT Sport, Šlágt TV, Óčko, Óčko Gold, Prima ZOOM, Prima Love, TV Noe, Retro, Eurosport 1, Digisport 3, Nova Sport, Filmbox, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, AXN, Spectrum. Prima COOL will arrive in the next update in a few days and other stations should appear in subsequent updates.
