Press Release: According to operators' statistics, 3 million Czech customers switched to unlimited tariffs. But after three years, they are no longer so satisfied, they would like a lower price for unlimited calls. What else would they change about their tariffs, found out a survey of the Ušetřeno.cz portal.
When affordable unlimited tariffs came to the market in the spring of 2013, they caused quite a stir. The first offer to appear on the market was from O2, which introduced an unlimited tariff with a two-year commitment for 749 CZK. Shortly afterwards, competitors joined in and introduced virtually identical mobile tariffs . Customer reactions were not long in coming. According to operators, 3 million customers used these tariffs during the first year.
But since then, there has been no significant discounting. The offers of unlimited tariffs across operators were not affected by the big competitive boom in the form of virtual operators. At the same time, according to a survey by the Ušetřeno.cz portal, which took place among more than 300 respondents, it is the price that bothers people the most about their tariff.
The competitive struggle takes place in secret
But the operators are not sleeping, as it might seem. The competitive struggle does take place, but it is hidden away from the public eye. Jiří Tutsch from the portal Ušetřeno.cz points out that the battle of operators for customers has been transferred to the sphere of so-called non-public tariffs. Thanks to them you can get unlimited calls to all networks under CZK 500.
However, you would hardly find the advertised offer on the operator's websites or in branded stores. Only officially known tariffs and prepaid cards are available there . Although you can get such an unpublicized offer from all the big players on the market, they only resort to it in exceptional situations. For example, when they want to keep a customer who is considering changing operator.
You can come across non-public offers in other ways. And that's thanks to some online comparators that provide these advantageous unlimited tariffs. One of them is the comparison tool Ušetřeno.cz, which promises interested parties unlimited calls with a non-public tariff with a 40% discount.
What else bothers the Czechs?
But it is not only the price of the tariff that does not suit people. According to a survey by the portal Ušetřeno.cz, they also perceive a long commitment negatively. It usually lasts 24 months. 35% of respondents are not satisfied, as they cannot so easily change the tariff to a more favorable one. "For early termination of the contract, people usually pay 20% of the remaining obligations of their agreed lump sum." Pro"I would recommend that they calculate whether a possible departure would be worth it compared to the planned savings," advises Tutsch from Ušetřeno.cz.
20% of respondents would welcome a lower price for roaming services. And that will soon come true for them. Already at the end of April this year, all three main operators will see a substantial price reduction as a result of the European Union regulation.
A third of those surveyed would like more free minutes, SMS or data, and 15% of respondents advocate for more pleasant customer service at the operator. Furthermore, people are bothered by poor coverage or the lack of rewards for "loyalty" to their operator.
