Readdle, the Ukrainian developer of popular productivity software, has refreshed its PDF management and annotation app. PDF Expert for OS X and PDF Expert for iOS got a new feature Handoff. With function Handoff, a PDF Expert user can start editing a PDF document on their iPhone or iPad, pick up where they left off on their iPhone, and finish it on their Mac. Additionally, today's update includes a half-dozen improvements, such as the ability to select, crop, or copy a portion of a document.
If you started working on a PDF file in PDF Expert on your iPhone or iPad, you can transfer it to your computer by pressing the button Handoff in the application on your Mac. Next, you select your file and Handoff will take care of everything else. Transferring a PDF file with all the comments and edits to a Mac is possible, provided that both your iPhone, iPad and Mac are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and using the same iCloud account.
“We are working on a version of PDF Expert 2.0 for Mac that will include OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and text editing in PDF,” noted Readlle. Pro All existing PDF Expert users will receive a free update.
PDF Expert version on iOS is one of the most downloaded productivity apps on App Store with over 5 million users worldwide. The Mac version was launched in November 2015 and was selected Applem as the second best application of the year.
PDF Expert for Mac requires a Mac with an Intel processor and OS X 10.10 Yosemite or higher. The application is currently in English only. The application is currently in App Store at a 70% discount for $19.99 (500 CZK), the discount ends tomorrow, when the application will cost $59.99 (1500 CZK). Version on iPhone costs $9.99 (250 CZK) and requires iOS 8 or later.
