Sony introduced a new series of USB drives that will primarily interest owners of 12″ MacBookat. These are flash drives with double-sided konewhich USB-C, which are also compatible with traditional USB konewhich, so there is no need to worry about support. According to Sony, the drives support the first generation USB 3.1 standard, which means they can theoretically achieve read speeds of up to 130MB/s, making them suitable for fast data backup. As for the capacity, three models with 16, 32 and 64GB capacity will be sold, all of which have identical appearance and dimensions. They also feature a silver metal body that matches the silver MacBookom.
Sony's new flash drives are also cross-platform compatible and, in addition to being able to be used with a Mac, you can connect them to Windowsom, Android and Chromeby book. Unfortunately, the company hasn't announced availability or pricing, but we should find out soon, probably at MWC 2016 in Barcelone, which begins on Feb. 22.
