Microsoft HoloLens is undoubtedly one of the most interesting products that have been introduced in recent years. The technology caught the attention of several large organizations, including NASA, which entered into cooperation with Microsoftom, and together with a large amount of supplies (almost 3.5 tons) of food and scientific equipment, she brought two HoloLens prototypes to her astronauts, which they can use during their one-year mission. A pair of astronauts, Scott Kelly and Mikhail Kornienko, are tasked with spending just over a year in space to help NASA learn how long-duration space missions affect the human body. This is also useful information due to humanity's interest in settling Mars, which is quite far from Earth. On the other hand, it is still a shorter journey than on Friday on the drop-off from Bratislava.
So what do they say about HoloLens up there in space? "I had a chance to try the HoloLens before I went into space, and I think it has certain capabilities that we will use here on the space station. One of them is that today we have to look at a computer or an iPad to follow the instructions. And if you could see the instructions right in front of your eyes and control them with your voice or you could scroll better between steps, that would be useful. Also, the HoloLens allows people down on Earth to see what we're doing from your point of view and they can draw right in front of you eyes, so they can help you immediately.Let's say you're working with a piece of hardware that you're still familiar with nestretli, but you have an expert on Earth who can give you advice in a completely different way than if you just contacted him using your voice or chatat. It can outline or highlight what you have to do, it can send you notes and thus somehow accompany you in your work.
