Eric Schmidt is no longer just the chairman of the board of Google. Today, he is the chairman of the newly formed parent conglomerate Alphabet, which was created mainly to have Larry in it Page and Sergey Brin order and knew what to do venuis. That is also why the Alphabet company consists of several former divisions of Google, which now also include separate companies Nest Labs, Calico, X Labs and more. The most profitable is of course the Google division, the one that started it all. Virtually all web services fall under it, and therefore the service also belongs here Google Play Music. This is what Eric Schmidt has now decided to defend in a new interview for the BBC, where he took a dig at the competing service Apple Music.
Schmidt said in an interview that the service Apple Music she is ten years behind and that society has decided to introduce elitist behavior to her. The team is mainly referring to the fact that Apple has hired dozens, even hundreds of experts who are in charge of the content of the service and make sure that the service does not behave like a robot, but that it understands you. According to him, this is how companies behaved ten years ago, because technology then was not as advanced as it is today, and therefore it was necessary to hire people who knew best what people wanted to listen to and what they would like. "Today, however, it is better to build an intelligent system that can learn from situations in the real world - that is, it learns from what people listen to and can determine very precisely what the next song should be - and thus can predict when should follow Adele," adds.
Schmidt said that putting the music service in the care of artificial intelligence is not an elitist solution and is much more democratic. It's a shame that even if the chairman of the board stands behind his opinion, Google apparently has the opposite opinion. That's the only way we can explain that his company hired human experts to take care of the content on the Play Music service, which got its own radio. The company also proudly boasted that among the experts we will also find people from the Songza service, which Google bought a year ago. Apple for a change in service Music he took care of the best of both worlds and even though part of the service is in charge of the computer, he works with experts.

And how many people use Google Play Music?
And do you want to know how Google's "intelligent systems" work in practice?
Every time I buy something new, the day after I buy it, Google Ads starts asking me: "Are you looking for a fridge?" :-))
That's bad enough that ads are the revenue stream for their profit.
When they start offering me something with such a long delay, at a time when it's passé :)
And recommending videos on Youtube is also sometimes terrible, they don't manage to meet my taste. I recommend SHAZAM for that.
I'm guessing that Google will pay for this excessive automation one day and the approach will become clear in the long run. Appmore convenient and profitable, more user-friendly…
S Apple Music I have no experience, but with Google Play jo!
Google Play As a player for your own recorded MP3s, it's not bad.
But when I tried the premium account for a month, it was a disaster! There wasn't really anything to do there. No sensible work with playlists. Searching for other playlists or genres was worth it! Also the general search is bad…
Apple Music I'll try it eventually, but it's still a young thing, so I'll give it some time :D
For now, I'm using the Spotify web player, where they will upload no complicated ads and a comfortable one.. ;-)
