Some time ago, YouTube switched to a new player, and since then, several users could encounter an unpleasant surprise - in videos, it was no longer possible to skip advertisements, which was definitely annoying if a person wanted to watch an ASMR video and instead was forced to watch a 4-minute football advertisement, or had to refresh the page until a shorter spot appeared or the desired video was loaded directly. The catch is that Google has started to fight against users of AdBlock and other ad blocking tools in such a way that if Chrome detects that you have some kind of ad-blocking tool installed, the option to skip the ad will automatically disappear from YouTube - practically forcing you to watch the entire ad.
Google users Chrome they're pretty clueless because there's currently no way to get around YouTube and "mandatory" ads. Actually, there are two ways – you either have to uninstall AdBlock or you have to put YouTube on the whitelist, i.e. on the list of sites where ads are allowed. I personally use it though Safari, but I also encountered this problem here. I solved it just two days ago by updating the plugin in the section Settings – Extensions. Of course, it is possible that even this will only be a temporary solution, because video creators also need some form of income, and advertisements help them to be at least somehow rewarded for how much time and effort they put into their clips. In that case, I have no problem supporting artists, but it bothers me quite a bit when I see an ad on a video that the given user definitely didn't create (ie Jožko definitely didn't record the famous Cože scene in Pulp Fiction).

I have been using AdBlock for several years and it has never failed. I haven't experienced any outages lately either. And I use Chrome all the time :)
The only mistake is in Chrome 45 and affected only part of the users. This is not the intention, but a bug that has already been fixed. It has nothing to do with AdBlock - it's just a BUG.
