The company decided to keep the same bit rate as iTunes Match and music available in iTunes Music Store, which means that the music will be streamed in 256kbps quality. However, in comparison, the transfer speed is lower than competing services and even compared to Beats Music. It, like Spotify Premium, streams music in 320kbps MP3. The bitrate is much higher on Tidal, as you are paying for lossless music quality. However, with Spotify, the quality varies depending on the setting, which is mainly related to FUP. Thanks to this, music from Spotify on mobiles is streamed at 96kbps by default, but you can increase it to 160kbps at any time.
