Some time ago, we informed you that MediaTek is working intensively on its first deca-core processor, which will be intended for smartphones and tablets. This processor should automatically rank among the most powerful ones on the current market. However, another processor giant Qualcomm does not want to be left behind either, which should probably introduce a processor in the near future, which should also have up to ten logical cores.

The upcoming chipset, which Qualcomm is about to launch on the market, should bear the designation Snapdragon 818. Like its counterpart from MediaTek, this processor should also be made up of three blocks of cores, two of which will be quad-core and one will have only two cores. The first quad-core block should have economical Cortex-A53 cores tuned to a frequency of 1,2 GHz. Two-core block ponesie cores with the same designation, but in this case their clock rate should be 0,4 GHz higher. And finally, the last part of the processor should contain four logical cores labeled Cortex-A72, which will have a clock speed of 2 GHz and will be the main driving force of the entire chip. This processor should be manufactured using a 20 nm production process and will also have an Adreno 532 graphics chip. Of course, the processor should have support for super-fast LPDDR4 memories or connection to LTE-A Cat.10 networks. However, we do not yet know when this chipset will be officially introduced.
