Some time ago we informed you that LG is working hard on the successor of its flagship in the form of the LG G3, which should once again bear the simple designation LG G4. However, during these hours, LG apparently accidentally released almost all the important information regarding this very new top smartphone to the world. For a short time, it published all the technical information along with photos of the alleged LG G4 on its website.
So the smartphone was unofficially presented in only one size with a diagonal of 5,5 inches. The display resolution will also not change compared to the G3 and remains at 2560 x 1440. The display unit itself should have IPS Quantum Display technology, with which the manufacturer claims very realistic color rendering and perfect readability in direct sunlight. The fact that the G4 will not be made from premium materials will probably be a bit of a disappointment for LG fans. However, we will see it in two versions. In the first case, it should be a classic polycarbonate back cover, which could have a similar self-regeneration technology as that of the LG G Flex 2. This version should be available in white, black and, recently, gold, which is very popular among manufacturers. However, the second design is interesting, which should be somewhat inspired by Samsung. It will offer a leather back cover, which will have a kind of stitching on its middle, which will give it a certain stamp of eleganceanci.e. According to the leak, this version should be available in up to six color combinations, including brown, bright yellow or burgundy. The overall design of both versions should not be fundamentally different from the current flagship.
On the technical side, however, minor changes have taken place. The most fundamental is the logical change of the processor. However, the use of the chipset is a bit of a surprise Qualcomm Snapdragon 808, which has six logical cores and includes an Adreno 418 graphics core. Originally, there was speculation about the most powerful Snapdragon 810 processor, which, however, has significant problems with overheating, as well as the fact why it was not used by Samsung in Galaxy S6 to Galaxy S6 edge. The RAM memory should then have only one value and that is 3 GB.
Another surprise that could be deduced from the information leak itself is the fact that the LG G4 will have a camera with the same resolution as the current flagship from LG. This means 13 Mpx compared to the expected sixteen. However, this sensor should offer a record low aperture of f/1,8 , which is even lower than the new Samsung flagship. Such a low aperture should guarantee up to 80% better brightness of photos than is the case with the LG G3. The entire device should be powered by the same large battery as it is currently, i.e. 3000 mAh, which should be hidden under a removable cover.
Perhaps the biggest surprise should be the use of the now old Android operating system in version 4.4 . As it was expected that the device will be available right from the start of sales with the latest Andorid 5.1 system with the newly introduced LG WX 4.0 superstructure. Whether this leak, which was on LG's official website, is true, we will find out only on April 28 , when the official presentation of this smartphone is scheduled.
