While Valve fans are waiting for any hint of Half-Life 3, the company has unveiled something completely different. Together with HTC, Valve has created a virtual reality headset called Vive, which should be available later this year, or rather, a developer version will be available as early as spring of this year. The novelty should offer competition to the Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus, with the main difference being the comfort of wearing and the weight, which will be so low that you will be able to use the glasses for a long time without them pressing on you or being too heavy.
"We believe that virtual reality will change the way we interact with the world," said HTC's Chou. The glasses are not just for playing games, but also for watching various events, learning history or being able to see distant places from the comfort of your home. HTC is holding all the details until next week in San-Francisca, where the GDC conference will take place, where we will learn information about resolution, price and other parameters.
