The promised boom wearables in the form of Apple Watch It's coming in a few months, but rival Android has been enjoying the smartwatch platform for some time. Watches from LG, Motorola, and Samsung run on Android Wear, which until now could only be connected to Android 4.3 and higher. Mohammad Abu-Garbeyyeh, who goes by the name MohammadAG in the developer community, has figured out how to connect the two different worlds of operating systems.
Google itself has stated several times in the past that it would like to expand Android Wear and on iOS, but for now, due to limitations and restrictions from the Applu, it was not possible. But MohammadAG showed the world a video in which it is clearly visible that the message on the iPhone 6 is also displayed on the Moto 360 watch from Motorola. It turned out that the communication takes place in the same way as in the case of the Pebble watch, it was necessary to use the Apple Notification Center Service (ANCS), which is a feature that has been in the iPhone since iOS 7 and which allows you to send notifications from your iPhone to another device. Nakonec all you had to do was install a small app on your watch.
In the video you can see that only the very basics work – a notification alerting you to a received SMS message. Android Wear is a platform built on Google Now, a service that draws information and then evaluates and presents the user with data that should be useful to the user at a specific time. It has not yet been possible to get all of this working, but it is certainly interesting to see that there is a way to enable at least partial communication. Personally, I would like the connection iOS and Android Wear very handy, as my LG G Watch is currently just sitting in a drawer. When MohammadAG releases the app to the public, we will be sure to let you know how reliably this connection works.
