When Foxconn is mentioned, the reader probably thinks of factories in China where new models are manufactured iPhone. However, Foxconn makes much more than just phones Apple and, among other things, also works with the production of displays. Most recently, Foxconn is even supposed to hold discussions with Applom about the fact that he would like to build a factory in the north of China, where high-quality displays designed for iPhone and other portable devices for Apple, such as an iPad, iPod or Apple Watch. Moreover, these displays could offer high resolution while being energy efficient, which would be beneficial in how Jony Ive exaggerates with thinness.

Pre Apple on the one hand, it would mean a reduction in production costs to iPhone, because the displays would be made by the same manufacturer that assembles its phones. For Foxconn, it would mean for a change that they will earn on Apple more than now, as product assembly is something where Foxconn doesn't have too much of a margin. It's also not very profitable to make metal chassis and cables for certain products that Foxconn makes today Apple. Foxconn could eventually become one of the key manufacturers of displays for Apple, which has taken displays from Sharp, Japan Display, LG and Samsung in recent months.
